- Facebook is rolling out a new Feeds tab which will feature updates from friends and Groups. It always makes me laugh when Facebook reverts back to an old version of an existing feature and markets it as new.
- Meta launched a new program this week that supports small businesses that includes online and in-person features.
- A new “Boost” feature allows businesses to turn their Instagram Reels into ads. Just what we need, more ads!
- Instagram also added new business search tools to Maps this week.
SNAPCHAT
- Snapchat for Web launched this week. Snapchat on desktop, what a concept!
- Twitter scored its first win in its case against Elon Musk as he tries to get out of his takeover bid. Yikes.
- Twitter is under fire as a report reveals that the company pays employees different salaries for the same job depending on what country they live in.
AR, VR, & AI
- Google has plans to start public testing of their AR glasses as soon as next month.
- Amazon wants to turn Alexa into a totally automated virtual assistant.
NOTEWORTHY
- YouTube rolled out its new partnership with Shopify this week, which included a bunch of new shopping features on the platform.
- TikTok is the fastest growing news source amongst adults in the UK. As a TikTok lover, I understand this completely.
